Discipling the Foundations of Society

A global discipleship initiative designed to bridge the "discipleship gap" between sincere faith and the complex realities of modern society.

The Spheres Course is a global discipleship initiative designed to bridge the "discipleship gap"—the divide between sincere faith and the complex realities of modern society. We believe that the Great Commission is not merely an invitation to individual piety, but a mandate to disciple nations by bringing the wisdom and character of God into every foundational pillar of culture.

While many programs offer "leadership tips" or "business ethics," we offer a rigorous formational infrastructure rooted in the total authority of Scripture.

Our Story: A Global Research Initiative

The Spheres Course is the result of an unprecedented academic and practical collaboration. To ensure the curriculum was truly canonical and globally relevant, we invested in a massive research phase:

  • 40,000+ Hours of Research: A multi-year effort to map the "whole counsel of God" to the structures of society.
  • 200+ Leaders from 50 Nations: Our framework was stress-tested by a diverse global cohort of theologians, marketplace leaders, and social pioneers.
  • 416 Key Sphere Passages: We identified the 416 unique scriptures—representing every book of the Bible with no duplicates—that provide the "DNA" for societal renewal.

The Vision: Formation Precedes Transformation

At the heart of our work is a simple but demanding conviction: Lasting change in communities and cities emerges from the formation of people, not from programs, policies, or pressure. Scripture portrays social renewal as the fruit of transformed hearts, rightly ordered loves, and faithful practices embodied over time. Therefore, our courses are not just "information transfers"—they are journeys of deep formation.

Our Methodology: The SFI Framework

Every course in our curriculum is anchored by the Sphere Formation Index (SFI). This methodology ensures that as you study a sphere—whether it is Economics, Government, or Education—you are being shaped across four critical domains:

  1. Theological Alignment: Realigning our understanding of God's purposes and identifying the "false gods" that compete for allegiance in each sphere.
  2. Inner Formation: Reshaping the loves, fears, habits, and character of the practitioner.
  3. Vocational Practice: Moving from abstract belief to concrete, faithful embodiment in daily decisions and the use of power.
  4. Observable Impact: Tracking the tangible fruits of a formed life, such as increased trust, justice, and the repair of institutional harm.

The Pathway: A Two-Stage Journey

Transformation is cumulative, not event-based. We guide participants through two interlocking 10-week sequences:

  • Part 1: The Foundation Course

Establishes the shared theological grammar, biblical worldview, and sphere logic necessary for all subsequent learning.

  • Part 2: The Focused Sphere Courses

Participants join a vocation-specific cohort (e.g., Economics, Family, Government) to engage with 52 Key Passages over ten weeks, applying the SFI framework to their specific professional and social context.

Our Tools: The SourceView Bible

To facilitate this journey, we utilize the SourceView Bible. This innovative tool highlights the different spheres of society and emphasizes the conversations within Scripture using a unique four-color format. It is designed to foster a deeper engagement with the Word of God as the primary source for societal wisdom.

Join the Movement

The Spheres Course is an invitation to move beyond "occupying" your city to actually discipling it. Whether you are a local church leader, a city executive, or a parent, this is a pathway toward a resilient, faithful witness that can sustain the work of renewal for generations to come.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this just another assessment tool?

No. This isn't about measuring your performance or comparing yourself to others. It's about discernment—helping you pay attention to how God is forming you over time. The focus is on faithfulness, not outcomes.

What if my scores are low?

The numbers (if used) are simply markers to help you notice patterns—they're not judgments of your worth or value. Low scores at the beginning just show where there's room for growth. Everyone starts somewhere, and God meets us where we are.

How is this different from other courses?

Most courses focus on information—learning new content. This course focuses on formation—becoming a new kind of person. We're not just teaching you theology; we're helping God's Word reshape your beliefs, character, practices, and impact in your specific area of calling.

Do I need to be "advanced" in my faith?

Not at all. This course is for anyone who wants to grow—whether you're just beginning to connect faith and work, or you've been living this out for years. Formation is a lifelong journey, and there's always more room to grow.

Can I retake the course?

Absolutely. Formation is cyclical, not linear. Many people go through the course multiple times, each time experiencing deeper transformation as they bring new life experiences and questions to the Scripture and community.
